SMP PRE-CARE

To ensure optimal results, here are the key steps to follow in the week leading up to your appointment:

  • Gently cleanse your scalp with a non-abrasive shampoo. Consult your physician or dermatologist for specific scalp issues.

  • Moisturize your skin with organic skin moisturizer to aid pigment absorption.

  • Protect your scalp from excessive sun exposure.

  • Avoid sun tanning oil.

  • Get a good night's rest before your procedure.

  • Have a hearty meal for your well-being.

SMP AFTERCARE

For 7-10 days (until area is completely healed) follow these instructions very closely. Failure to do so may result in color loss or infection!

  • Avoid touching the healing pigmented area to prevent infection. Apply organic moisturizer 3-5 times daily using a clean cotton swab.

  • Avoid makeup, sun exposure, soap, saunas, Jacuzzis, swimming, contact with animals, or gardening until the area is fully healed.

  • Do not rub or traumatize the healing area as it may remove pigment.

  • Avoid using products with AHA's (e.g., Glycolic or Lactic Acids) on the treated area.

  • Prior to bathing, apply a light coating of organic moisturizer with a clean cotton swab. Continue until the area is healed.

  • While you may cover your scalp with a loose cap or scarf, it's best to leave it uncovered for optimal results until fully healed.

  •

Additional Notes:

  • Schedule touch-up appointments within 30-45 days after the procedure. Multiple sessions are part of the SMP process.

  • Use "total sunblock" once the area has healed to prevent pigment fading.

  • Blood donors should wait one year post-SMP, per the Red Cross (considered a form of Permanent Make-up).

  • If you have concerns, allergies, itching, swelling, blistering, or other complications, contact your technician immediately.

  • For excessive redness, swelling, tenderness, red streaks, elevated temperature, or drainage, consult a physician, as the area may be infected, and medical care may be necessary.

For the first three to four days keep your tattoo clean and dry, this means short showers, no soaking. Gently wash your tattoo daily using your hand and a non scented soap, pat dry as soon as you're finished. After three to four days you can begin to apply a small amount of water based scent free lotion, preferably Lubriderm or tattoo aftercare products. Making sure your hands are clean apply once or twice daily until your tattoo is healed. Do not rub or pick your scabs, keep your tattoo out of the sun, tanning beds and soaking water especially hot tubs, swimming pools ect Remember, your body will heal itself. Generally, the less you do to a new tattoo the better it will heal.
